2022 Cabernet Franc Upper Bowl Vineyard

This wine was produced exclusively from grapes grown on the Keenan Estate located in Napa Valley’s Spring Mountain District. The Cabernet Franc were harvested on September 18th, 2020. The fruit was hand-picked then, after de-stemming, the must was inoculated with Montrachet yeast and fermented in stainless steel tanks. The wine aged in French and American oak barrels for twenty months.
“Freakishly good” is how we have come to describe this single vineyard Cabernet Franc from our highest elevation vineyard (approx. 2000') aptly named the "Upper Bowl". Cabernet Franc is simply not supposed to be this delicious. Enjoy now or decades from now.

" The 2022 Cabernet Franc Upper Bowl Vineyard is once again one of the most distinctive wines in the range. Strong Franc notes and Spring Mountain signatures play off of each other in this expressive, highly distinctive wine. The tannins are just a bit hard. Otherwise, the 2022 is impeccable."

" A rich, dark-fruited expression on the nose, offering black cherries, blackberries, mocha and licorice. The palate is juicy with full body and tight tannins that are firm and lightly austere. The finish shows a slightly leafy cedar character. Try from 2028."
